Abstract

This research grant project abroad integrates PDIP / IZ in the strategic area "Integrated Agricultural Production Systems" approved by FAPESP (process 2017/50339-5). The amount of nitrogen for forages plants in intercropping with annual crops in integrated systems until isn't estimated. In function of this the research grant project abroad the will aim the training in nitrogen mineralization model from non-soil-incorporated plant residue. The training will be in a research project developed by Professor Dr. Miguel L. Cabrera at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA. Professor Dr. Cabrera is a leading expert in soil, water and residues management and has been conducting research on pasture nutrient losses, nitrogen release from cover crops and organic fertilizers. During the period, research activities will be carried out related to the development, calibration and validation of a N mineralization model from ground cover residues. During the period of the research grant project abroad will be observed the research activities related to the development, calibration and validation of a N mineralization model from plant residue on the soil surface. As a result of this training will have: researcher technical capitation abroad; international scientific cooperation and consequently increases in the publication of high impact scientific papers. It is also intended that the results of this training can be applied in the research project: Forage plants and nitrogen in the succession soybean - out-of-season corn for the development of sustainable food systems" (FAPESP process - 2019/02387-6).
