Abstract

The "Estabelecimento Floricultura", founded in 1893 by the German Johann Dierberger (1859-1931), was one of the pioneer firms in the city of São Paulo in the production and trade of plants, as well as the design and execution of gardens. In the publication "Arte & Jardim", from 1928, with the company already named "Dierberger & Cia", there was a list of more than 200 projects designed in the capital, the countryside and other states - 160 of those projects were just in the capital. In this context, the objective of this research is to map the culture fields, commercial, public and residential projects designed by Dierberger firms in São Paulo from 1893 to 1928, respectively the year of the foundation of the first firm until the year of the publication mentioned. In this research, the survey and mapping of public and private projects focus on those located in the northern region of Paulista Avenue - including it, the region's watershed and epicenter where most of the projects are concentrated. The specific objective is to give continuity to the "Cataloging Essays", adopted as a methodological strategy in previous research, originally inserted in the FAPESP Thematic Project titled "Erudite and technical knowledge in the configuration and reconfiguration of the urban space.
