Abstract

Due to the great importance that science and technology have in the development of a nation, in the specific case of Brazil, in addition to significant investments and appropriate government actions, a closer approach to society is also necessary, thus establishing a broad and democratic debate. on the subject, so that the social inequalities and technological dependence to which we are already subjected are not further aggravated. This approach, however, will only be possible if there is a greater commitment from the national media to bring to society what happens in the world of science so that non-specialists can better understand the subject. It is in this sense that Scientific Journalism performs its main function: mediator between the scientific community and society in general.Today, the most prominent issues are global warming and climate change, a theme that directly affects the development of our society, and putting the science of global change within the reach of society is the great challenge. Thus, having as its object of study the FAPESP Program for Research on Global Climate Change (PFPMCG), it is intended to demonstrate the effectiveness of scientific dissemination in the dissemination and popularization of climate change issues. For this, some tools (interviews, videos, posts on social networks and reports) and strategies for scientific dissemination will be applied exclusively in the PFPMCG as tools to help approach climate change research and issues to society.
