Abstract

In this project we will compare species pairs within genera adapted to different soil substrates from the most species-rich families in the campos rupestres. We will generate high quality reference genomes aiming to identify genomic features associated with plant adaptation to extreme environments. In addition, we will also perform transcriptomics of roots and leaves and perform root functional characterization of the selected species. Further analysis will be used for the identification and nomination of candidate-genes to the GCCRC plant biotechnology pipeline for the development of transgenic plants adapted to poor nutrient soil conditions.
