Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate three-dimensionally the accuracy of laboratory scanners in implant prosthetic rehabilitations. Initially, a four-implant toothless metallic anatomical model simulating the All-on-four system will be scanned with a contact scanner (MDX-40, Roland) and will be used as a control image for later comparison with other dental scanners. Three laboratory scanners with structured light technology and one with multiline blue LED technology will be used for digitizing the master mode for future image overlapping and comparison of the analog position in 3D to the position of the implants in the master model. Ten master model scans will be performed for each scanner, and the images obtained in STL format will be exported to the Bio-CAD program for evaluation and comparison of accuracy between all the systems. The analysis of the images will be guided by the pyramid present in the master model, which will allow to evaluate the difference in the position of the analogs in the X, Y and Z axes. The average values of the deviations (¼m) of the master model position in relation to the position of the images of the different scanners in the three axis will be submitted to the parametric one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) complemented by Tukey's test, with a significance level of 5%.
