Abstract

This activity plan, selected for a postdoctoral fellowship, is linked to the thematic project "Vulnerability of young people to STI/HIV and partner violence: assessment of human rights-based psychosocial interventions" (2017/25950-2) and the set of activities foreseen in the implementation and evaluation of a sexuality education program based on a multicultural human rights perspective. At the same time, the program aims to contribute to a reflection on the impact of conservative discourses, including religious discourses, on sexual activity and the expectations engendered by ideas about gender norms and the co-production of discriminatory attitudes and experiences - such as racism, male chauvinism and lgbtphobia, as well as religious discrimination. Based on the procedures and methodology foreseen in the scope of the project, in particular the ethnographic study that will accompany the implementation process, the aim of this postdoctoral work will be to understand how the strengthening of different types of conservatism in Brazilian society, especially religious ones, affects social interactions in everyday school life; and to understand specifically how students and the set of actors in the school community respond to the proposal to affirm young people's sexual and reproductive rights.
