Abstract

Quantitative measures of postural control are necessary to measure the balance of patients withParkinson's disease. Data from postural control in a quiet posture measured through the forceplate contribute to identify possible changes in the balance between the stages of the diseaseand the effects of dopaminergic medication. A public data set including quantitative measuresof postural control and clinical scales can be used in future investigations of balance inParkinson's disease. The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of dopaminergic medicationon postural control in patients with Parkinson's disease and to provide a public data set ofquantitative measures of postural control in quiet posture. For this, balance will be assessed 2using motor scales and the center of pressure in quiet posture of 40 patients with Parkinson'sdisease will be measured. Of these, 25 patients have already been collected. It is hoped tocontribute so that different research groups in the world have access to reference data and abetter understanding of the effects of dopaminergic medication on postural control.
