Abstract

The increase in the agricultural sector related to the grain harvest and the increase in planted area is mainly due to the applied technologies, such as the use of several products to increase productivity and inhibit plant pathogens. One of the technologies employed is nanoparticles (NPs). Several NPs, such as copper oxide (CuO NPs) are already widely used commercially. However, they can cause several toxic effects, such as: germination inhibition, reduction of root elongation, increased synthesis of metabolites and reactive oxygen species, reduction of chlorophyll and carotenoids. However, phytotoxicity depends on several factors, such as: dose, synthesis, size and composition of NP and seed sensitivity. Thus, in order for NP to actually act in increasing productivity, it is necessary to determine the optimal concentration to be applied. In the present project will be used a biogenic NP (synthesized with green tea extract), aiming, in addition to increasing productivity, reducing phytotoxic effects. In addition, CuSO4 will be used for comparison with NP. Considering this context, the present project aims to evaluate and compare the impact of NP of copper oxide on lettuce (Lactuca sativa) through in vitro (Petri dishes) and in vivo (cultivable soil) bioassays, with n = 6. Will be The elongation and oxidative stress of lettuce seed rootlets were evaluated in in vitro bioassays, as well as lettuces (in vivo bioassays). In addition, the concentrations of macro and microelements present in lettuce and soil will be determined. Photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll and carotenoids) and primary metabolites (total phenolics and flavonoids) in lettuces will also be evaluated. This study aims to contribute to advances in agronomical technology, using a more sustainable nanomaterial. (AU)
