Abstract

Graphene oxide is one of graphene derivatives, it is a chemically modified compound that has a very oxidized and alterable form of graphite as a conjugation of dendrimers. Like graphene, they have good thermal stability, high electronic conductivity and high mechanical strength. In recent years, these nanomaterials have gained prominence in the scientific world due to their potential for applications in different areas of knowledge. For biomedical studies, they are very interesting because they have the potential to improve the diagnosis of diseases, including Cancer. When functionalized with molecules or drugs, they can serve as drug meters and still be used in photothermal therapy. Previous studies performed in our laboratory showing graphene oxide and dendrimer modified graphene oxide, after being internalized by the cell, affected by cytoskeleton components and generated by morphological changes without interruption in cell division, even with these isolated materials. inside. Also, how cells were able to redistribute clusters in each cell division, which includes these nanomaterials as a potential tool for cell-level drug delivery. Additional studies are, however, needed to assess the most accurate way in which graphene-derived materials are internalized and their possible effects and consequences. (AU)
