Abstract

We intend, in this study, to understand how literary procedures are articulated to the spinosan philosophy in Jacques le fataliste et son maître. Therefore, it will be sought to understand the artistic resources of this novel, especially the satirical procedures, so we can finally analyze how they have structured some ideas proposed in the "Theological-political treaty" and in "Ethics", by Baruch Spinoza. Besides that, with the help of theorists like Henri Bergson and Mikhail Bakhtin, who debate the comical and the satire, we aim to investigate if the critical propositions, comically expressed by the literary work, still match with the spinosan philosophycal prepositions exposed in the above-mentioned treaties.
