Abstract

The project proposes an ethnographic research to be done with Haitians living in the city of São Paulo/SP, in which the researcher will enter the field as a volunteer lawyer of one of the NGOs that help these immigrants, with the objective of understanding the way what the immigration process, both from the point of view of the institutionalization of flows by the State, and the agency of immigrants and their relatives and relatives, produces people and creates strata for subjectivity. In order to do so, the following analyzes are planned: 1) the official archives that are part of the immigration processes of each migrant participating in the research, which are processed by the National Immigration Council (CNIg) and the Federal Police; and 2) the memories stored by these immigrants, particularly with respect to diasporic dynamics in interface with family and kinship relations - these relations understood as the focus of the methodological and theoretical interest of the research, since they represent both objects of special regulation in immigration law as places of custody and reproduction of the memories and affections of its members.
