Abstract

Taking into account the importance of streptococcosis for tilapiculture and the need for an alternative strategic development for the sanitary management of fish farms, the present study aims to investigate the participation of the RP1 peptide on the modulation of the acute inflammatory reaction in Nile tilapia during infectious aerocystitis by S. agalactiae, by assessing the cell accumulation in exudate present in the swimming bladder and the leukocyte profile of the fish, after treatment with doses of 50, 100 and 200µg / kg of live weight, administered intraperitoneally. To this end, 104 young tilapia will be used, stored in 12 aquariums, with a capacity of 100 L of water each, supplied with running water without chlorine, from an artesian well with a flow rate of 1 L / min, with the following treatments: untreated control and treated with 50, 100 and 200µg of RP1 / kg bw To assess the kinetic cell accumulation in the inflamed focus, eight fish per treatment will be sampled in three periods: 6, 24 and 48 hours after inoculation of the bacteria, for the collection of exudate from the swimming bladder and blood to determine the blood count. The correlation between hematological findings and cell count in the inflamed focus will allow investigating the participation of this peptide on the pathophysiology of the acute inflammatory reaction in tilapia.
