Abstract

Prenatal adverse environments alters normal brain development and have consequences for brain structure and function throughout life, increasing the risk of developing mental disorders. Placenta is the organ responsible for mother and fetus mediation. Placental imprinted genes, for example, play an important role in neurodevelopmental disorders vulnerability. This project aims to analyze data from module I, project 2, seeking to measure the association between the prenatal stress exposure construct and anthropometric measures of the newborn. Moreover, we aim to study whether the placental mediation in this association is different between genders. (AU)
