Abstract

Our objective is to analyze the circulation, reception and appropriation of neoliberal ideas in Brazil and Argentina between the 1960s and 2005. In view of the difficulties and breadth that works of this nature present, we will use different typologies of sources that we divide into two large groups: academic and media sources. The analysis to be developed will be supported by the transnational perspective alongside the comparative and connected perspectives, following a proposal similar to that of Maria Ligia Prado (2005), who states that these perspectives are complementary. We will seek to demonstrate the peculiarities assumed by the Brazilian and Argentinian neoliberal models, as well as to fit them in the international perspective and, finally, to investigate how this model responds to the problems of inequality, poverty and underdevelopment that both countries present.
