Abstract

In view of the sociocultural and political constitution of the family as an institution throughout the course of history, there is an increase in the visibility of families formed by same-sex/gender couples and their children. In Brazil, it is a recent reality permeated by controversy. Thus, it is relevant to know and follow up how these families have constituted their family and social experiences. This project aims to analyze the family dynamics of four same-sex/gender couples and their children, who participated in a study conducted by the researcher four years ago and now will be interviewed again. Therefore, it is intended to know the processes and maintenance of marital and mother/father-child relationships during that period, including the experiences resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a longitudinal qualitative research, based on the theoretical framework of Psychoanalysis of Couple and Family, using the clinical-qualitative method. The techniques for the data collection are: identification participants form, semi-structured interview, and family map. The data will be recorded, transcribed and analyzed based on the theoretical framework. The family relationships dynamics' are influenced by cultural, social and economic factors, as well as by the particularities of the moment of the civilizing process in which they are inserted. Thus, the production and dissemination of research in this area may provide subsidies to expand and compose knowledge in the social, political and scientific fields for the legitimation and acceptance of the plurality of family structures existing nowadays.
