Abstract

In view of the global problem of the energy crisis and the concern with the depletion of energy sources, there is a need for research in the energy area, with alternatives that improve the performance of devices and reduce or replace them as raw materials used today, with lower cost and more sustainability. In this context, an outbreak of nanotechnology with the objective of producing new materials, which can be used in systems, making them more efficient, economical, and with high performance. The most used nanomaterials for application in energy storage devices are transition metal oxides, carbon-derivative materials, and a new class that has been drawing a lot of attention to transition metal dicalcogenides. These structures, when combined, have even higher performance, caused by the interaction and synergism between the components. Thus, this work offers the synthesis and characterization of an unprecedented nanocomposite based on a metallic oxide, Co3O4, a graphene derivative, reduced graphene oxide, rGO, and a passing metal dicalcogenide, cobalt disulfide, CoS2. A combination of rGO / Co3O4 / CoS2 will allow not only increase the efficiency of the system but also create a stable and transport device, which can be used as electrodes in supercapacitor energy storage devices combining faradaic and non- faradaic of these materials. The methodologies in this work will be innovative, relatively simple, and applicable in any laboratory. Various materials characterization techniques will also be used to explore and understand the properties of this unprecedented ternary nanocomposite. (AU)
