Abstract

The present research aims to deepen the perceptions and conceptions about Equity in Health, linking theory and practice in the construction of the praxis, since we understand that, until then, this concept has little clarity in the literature and, at the same time, because it is an ethical political-principle, has great potential for impact on professional practices and efficient public policy formulation based on social justice. Therefore, we understand this principle from the concrete reality of building the Unified Health System (SUS) and in a context of dismantling health policies and worsening the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. The general objective will be to investigate, based on systematic review and empirical research, the concept of Equity and its interfaces with Public Health. The specific objectives will be: (1) to investigate how the concept of Equity is described in the available scientific literature, in order to understand from which theoretical bases this term is understood and its applications in the field of health; (2) to analyze how scientific productions understand the current relevance of Equity as a principle of SUS and (3) to investigate the perceptions and conceptions of experts about the concept of Equity. In order to achieve these objectives, a systematic meta-synthesis review will be carried out in the LILACS database (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences), as it is considered to be a highly relevant source of materials produced in America, and semi-interview scripts-structured in an online form with professors from the Postgraduate Program in Clinical Management at the Federal University of São Carlos (PPGGC-UFSCar), from a critical-dialectic and hermeneutic perspective. The meta-synthesis process will be carried out in 6 steps: (1) organization of the team and definition of objectives and theoretical framework; (2) definition of inclusion and exclusion criteria, evaluation of the quality of studies, selection and organization; (3) meta-analysis, or hermeneutic and didactic approach and data grouping; (4) meta-method, or comparison of research models, study methodology and evaluation of emerging patterns; (5) meta-theory, or analysis of studies and the implications and theoretical orientations and development of the theory; and, finally, (6) deconstruction of the ideas presented about the phenomenon and theoretical understanding (SOUSA, BRANCO, 2013), while the responses to the form will be understood based on the Content Analysis technique proposed by Minayo (2014).
