Abstract

This Scientific Initiation project to be carried out at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), is linked to the Thematic Research Project entitled "Socio-spatial Fragmentation and Brazilian urbanization: scales, vectors, rhythms, forms and contents" (FRAGURB), of the Group of Research on Space Production and Regional Redefinitions - GAsPERR, based in the Department of Geography at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), in Presidente Prudente. In this proposal, it will be necessary to understand the dynamics of the daily mobility of youth in the constitution of the appropriation and use of urban space in São Paulo, which may provide us with empirical and subjective apprehensions of segregation and socio-spatial inequalities in the city from youth experiences and practices, in the context in which the right to the city is inserted in the production of contemporary urban space. In this sense, the methodological analysis of the research aims to question the vast bibliography in the fields of youth, mobility, socio-spatial inequality, and everyday practices with semi-structured interviews and field observations that will condition, from the analysis, to interpret the phenomena presented throughout the discussion of this project through particular subjectivity and group of interviewees, in the spaces of the development of their daily lives - mobility, education, leisure, consumption and work - where it is intended to highlight the differences and inequalities in relation to the use of urban space. In line with the Thematic Project with which these dialogues, we intend to understand the extent to which socio-spatial inequality currently manifests in São Paulo and how it neglects access and the right to the city.
