Abstract

The challenge for fungal infection treatments today is resistance to conventional drugs. Thus, several studies are investigating new therapies that are effective in inactivating microorganisms. Studies using antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have shown promising results with an emphasis on the control of bacterial and fungal infections. The objective of this study will be to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of AMP Temporin-SHa, on the Candida albicans (ATCC 90028) in planktonic culture and biofilms as well as, their compatibility of the oral cavity cells: [Keratinocites (NOK-si) and fibroblasts (FGH)]. The experiments will be performed in quadruplicate, on three different occasions (n = 12). The results will be evaluated by the most appropriate statistical tests, considering a significance level of 5%. (AU)
