Abstract

Already foreseen in the initial postdoctoral project "Dialogues with Oswald de Andrade: Anthropophagic Encounters" (UNICAMP/FAPESP Process 2019/05144-7), the period of research abroad will be held in New York, under the supervision of Robert Stam, University Professor at New York University. During this time as visiting scholar in the United States, the project intends to deepen questions about the actuality of the concept of anthropophagy, elaborated by Oswald de Andrade in the 20th century, inspired by the "Caraíba revolution" of the Tupi against European colonization in the 16th century. Through interviews and dialogues with contemporary intellectuals, practical and theoretical research activities will be carried out on aspects related to the understanding, reception and circulation of the Oswaldian concept in international university and cultural environments, with the perspective of expanding the interdisciplinary and transnational theoretical horizon. The research period at Tisch Arts at New York University will produce conceptual discussions permeated by the series of interviews, which will then be transcribed to generate a book and also edited in audiovisual format, within the scope of the post-doctoral project. The year as visiting scholar at NYU also aim at the internationalization of Postdoctoral research, with the translation into English of the book Antropofagia Palimpsest Selvagem (Cosac Naify) and other essays. Thus, the results of this internship abroad constitute a substantial contribution to the field of studies, both with the improvement and updating of concepts, as well as with its national and international dissemination.
