University and pandemic: senses constituted by Psychology sophomore students

Abstract

This research has the its main objective to apprehend and analyze the senses of the university experience, resulting from the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic, for students entering the Psychology course of a public institution in the interior of São Paulo, in the year 2020. The study is based on Historical-Cultural Psychology as a theoretical foundation and on the semi-structured narrative interview as a methodological procedure for data production; for analysis, the Meaning Nucleus methodology will be used. It is expected that the results will contribute to demonstrating certain measures: 1) the atypical experience of joining and interrupting on-site academic activities; 2) the extension of social distance, due to the lack of control of the pandemic; 3) the experience of remote pedagogical work; 4) the ways in which each student carried out their relationship with their peers, with professors and other people in the university context and knowledge. The research may come to elucidate how such changes produce other ways of thinking, feeling, and acting in the sophomore students in relation to the Psychology course, based on the experience of the pandemic, conceiving what Historical-Cultural Psychology explains as the production of senses in the set of human consciousness.(AU)
