Abstract

The aim of this project is to advance the understanding of how thermoelectric propertiesare related to the presence of non-trivial topology in the electronic band structure. To pursue this purpose, a systematic study on single crystalline Bi4I4 (both ± and ² phases) will be carried out, investigating its structural and transport properties (electrical, thermal, and thermoelectric). An relevant part of this project is to adapt a new ad-hoc home-madefacility at IF-USP dedicated to thermal transport experiments down to low temperatures (down to 1.5 K) and under external magnetic field (up to 9 T) for needle-likesamples.
