This research project intends to do an ethnography about the sociality of indigenous families of the Kalapalo people in the city of Querência (MT), located around the Xingu Indigenous Territory (TIX), where some people choose to live and, in some cases, they come to recognize themselves as residents. I intend to understand how the manufacture of the person is linked to the house and the land where they live, in the city or in the village, and how life is made in these different locations. It is also of interest for this research to investigate how the circulation of knowledge occurs between a village and the city, since living in the city is also understood as a suffering for the achievement of different types of learning in the 'world of whites', making knowledge circulate. The research aims to continue a previous investigation on the circulation of children between the Kalapalo Aiha village and the city of Canarana and Querência (MT) and, therefore, benefits from this study in the construction of the questions presented here. As a result, it is hoped to understand how kinship relationships have been transformed in the relationships of the upper Xingu people with the urban world, thus contributing to the field of debates on indigenous city experiences.
