Abstract

This research seeks to deepen the study of the heritage landscape of Vila das Jaboticabeiras, a set of subdivisions from the 1920s in Vila Mariana, in São Paulo. This area stands out from its surroundings by maintaining the construction patterns of its founding time, containing layers of memory that crystallized or were re-singularized in space throughout its hundred years of existence. Therefore, the landscape addressed deals with the experiences and relationships exchanged between the subjects' bodies and space, as well as a definition of landscape that only geometrically describes the environment in which it is inserted. From this, we intend to discuss the landscape that resists time, the reinvented and the new one, which, regardless of the permanence or changes, was able to sustain the atmosphere of the Vila. For the apprehension and cognition of this landscape, the discussion starts from the studies of Jean-Marc Besse, prioritizing two points discussed by the author: the landscape is understood as a "space of sensitive experiences" and as a "project context". In addition to this, the practice of drift and cartography will be used to recognize these subjective relationships between the heritage landscape and the subjects' bodies. Therefore, the objective is to find in these relationships the potential for preservation and adaptation of this unique landscape to the context and dynamics of the contemporary city. Given the threat that the pressure of the real estate market represents for its preservation due to the attempt to incorporate the area into the process of verticalization and densification.(AU)
