Abstract

Despite the advances that have already been achieved, HIV/AIDS still affects about 37.7 million cases worldwide in the year 2020, in Brazil from 2007 until June 2021, were identified about 381,793 cases of HIV. In the current pandemic situation, many new challenges are faced, especially for people living with HIV. Thus, studies like this one make it possible to identify the health needs of this population and act more effectively, in addition to providing a better understanding of the epidemiological phenomena linked to the disease. Objectives: To identify the existence of areas with a tendency to increase the number of cases of HIV/AIDS in the health care network of the city of São Carlos/SP in the period from 2017 to 2021. Methods: This is an ecological study, of spatial-temporal trend outlines of exploratory type in which the aggregates of analysis will be the census sectors of the municipality of São Carlos/SP. The study population will be composed of reported cases of HIV/AIDS in persons older than 13 years of age residing in the municipality of São Carlos/SP. The data source will be the Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação and the digital mesh of the municipality's census sectors. Initially, a descriptive analysis of the data will be performed, followed by the georeferencing of the cases, analysis of spatial variations in temporal trends through the technique of spatial scanning, and figuration of the findings. Data collection will occur only after approval by the Research Ethics Committee. Expected results: it is believed that after the analysis it will be possible to visualize by means of choropleth maps the areas with spatial variations in temporal trends in the municipality of São Carlos/SP, considered to be the technological pole of the interior of São Paulo.(AU)
