Abstract

Sugarcane shows great notoriety for Brazilian agribusiness, and tebuthiuron and thiamethoxam are some of the most important pesticides used in this crop. However, they can cause negative impacts on the environment due to their long residual effect. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the phytoremediation potential of jack bean (Canavalia ensiformis (L.) DC.) and velvet bean (Mucuna pruriens (L.) DC.) in soil with tebuthiuron and thiamethoxam associated with vinasse. The efficiency of phytoremediation process will be evaluated in a completely randomized design, with five replications in a quadruple factorial scheme regarding: plant development and its antioxidant mechanisms, determination of residual concentrations of pesticides in soil and environmental ecotoxicity. Therefore, the experiment will be performed in an agricultural greenhouse using pots with soil and tebuthiuron, thiamethoxam and/or vinasse associations. The sentinel species will be Crotalaria juncea. The ecotoxicity monitoring of the treatments will be carried out using bioassays with seeds of Lactuca sativa and the ecotoxicological potential of the samples will be determined in the initial (zero) and final (90 days) periods. Finally, analysis of variance will consider the doses of herbicide and insecticide, the volume of vinasse, and the presence or absence of phytoremediation plants, using the Microcal Origin 9.0 software and routines to be developed in R software. Antioxidative mechanisms analysis is associated with the submission of a BEPE proposal to the University of Porto, Portugal.(AU)
