Abstract

Primary Health Care (PHC) is considered (co)organizer of care in the Health Care Network (RAS) and must be guided by universality, integrality, equity, longitudinality, first contact, family approach, and community focus. Aim: understanding strategies, policies, and programs to improve quality communication in healthcare services in Ottawa, Canada; and to analyze differences between Brazilian and Canadian healthcare systems to ensure longitudinality of care. Method: descriptive method will be used to gain insights and familiarity with documents and policy statements and investigation inasmuch as the information. We choose Ottawa (Ontario province) as the research field, with around 1,046,440 million people, important health programs clinics, centers, and teams. The research project will be developed in three phases: (1) Grey literature review; (2) Discussion with experts in health services; (3) learning active process, including clinical visits, attendance, and participation in meetings with the Research Community of Practice Group and Primary Care Research Workshop Series. Results: Comprehension of Canadian strategies to improve quality communication in healthcare services will help us to discuss data previously gathered in Brazil and to reflect on its feasibility in the Brazilian context. We hope that international exchange opens doors for further partnership between both universities and countries. (AU)
