Abstract

In the 13th century Castilian society, in the process of reformulating the trial of crimes, the witness becomes the centerpiece. In analyzing legal sources, the scholar will address the importance given to the act of telling the truth in the lawsuit, as well as the words thatshould be pronounced to attest to the reliability of their description. Furthermore, he will not fail to study the criticism directed at those who lied in court.
