Abstract

Techno-music is characterized by its velocity and repetitive rhythm, allied to drug consumption and the nightclub environment. Tales Ab'Sáber observed, in his book ''A música do Tempo Infinito'', that the techno culture is connected to an expansion of the Culture Industry reality, inserted in a context of time dissolution and total power of the money. In this way, music and society operate in a very accelerated time that excludes reflection, disturb sleep, the creation of utopia, and the dream of the youths that are frequenters those culture circuits. An anti-sleep tendency is noticed: the dream, working in an irrational logic, allows representation of the social context that escapes from the hegemonic rationality, appearing as a possibility of political awakening, as presented in the book ''O Sonhar Restaurado''. The aim of this project is to build a conceptual map that allowed the writing of the essays in the two Ab'Sáber books, in order to identify the relations between the Culture Industry, late capitalism, and a dystopian political horizon that blocks the dream's healing function. Moreover, verify in which way this concept remains current or how they show up in the interviews that are going to be carried out with young people from the techno scene. This is a semi-structured question, inspired by the contributions of the Critical Theory authors of society and psychoanalysis. There are going to be carried out four interviews, one of them with a participant in the circle of dreams - such as your dream model is going to be analyzed - and three of them with techno scene goers to verify the quality of sleep and the elements of their dreams, in order to contribute to critical studies on contemporary youth.
