Abstract

Psychotic episodes may be considered as a way to deal with terrible experiences, utterable only through delusion and hallucination, with those generating great impact on people's daily life and on health care systems. Therefore, special care and attention should be delivered to those people so that they can confront and overcome this situation. Thus, considering the significance of intervention during the initial crisis, this research aims to comprehend which therapeutic strategies the Brazilian health care system offers to first episode psychosis in order to improve quality of life to the affected people. For this purpose, a bibliographic review will be carried out with the aim of systematizing recent discussions about this topic. The scientific articles will be gathered from national databases, and after that there will be an analysis of the work then found. Thereby, one expects to circumscribe what is the possibility and range of psychosocial intervention in the context of caring for first episode psychosis, as well as to define consonances and dissonances between the perspectives of care in Brazil and around the world.
