Abstract

Visceral Leishmaniosis is a potentially fatal zoonosis that has been growing in the latest years. Analogously, the number of feline leishmaniosis cases show a epidemiological mundial ascencion. However, the quantity of studies that assesses the real reservatory potential of specie as a part of the chain transmission of leishamaniosis is restrict. In this way, the presente research has as objective compare the infeccion of feline domestics of a endemic areas for Leishmania spp. by diferents sorological techniques. For that, total blood samples and bone marrow obtained from 288 felines, with age between one and eight years old will be evaluete. Serum samples will be assay by an ELISA associate with A protein and compared to an ELISA indirect classic. The serum of animals comig from a non-endemic region will be used as negative control. The samples of bone marrow will be also submitted to diagnostic molecular test through PCR in the real time technique (qPCR) for detection of Leishmania spp. DNA. The technique of qPCR will be considered the Golden test. The obtained results will be compared for definition of the best sorological diagnosis method, with possibility of using a new diagnostic toll superior at the current one.
