Abstract

This project will seek to determine the activities of natural radionuclides of the 238U and 232Th decay series along cores collected in the Santos Bifurcation region. The Santos Bifurcation is an oceanographic phenomenon occurring on the west bank of the South Atlantic. The characterization of the sedimentary processes in this region is intrinsically associated with the hydrodynamic phenomena of the area. The determination of radionuclides, important markers of sedimentological variables, will be carried out from the point of view of geographic and vertical distribution (over time).
