Abstract

Due to its low cost and versatility, plastic packaging has been extensively used as packaging for packaging and transporting food. However, the high demand and excessive disposal of these materials in nature cause one of the biggest environmental problems today. However, the development of new low-cost, more biodegradable bioplastics, obtained from agro-industry residues, can contribute to reducing the environmental impacts caused by conventional plastic packaging. This work aims to synthesize multicomponent bioplastics from silver nanoparticles prepared by the green method and bacterial cellulose, in addition to evaluating the influence of the type of residue from the citrus industry in the preparation of nanoparticles. The bioplastics obtained will be analyzed in relation to mechanical and thermal properties, studies of permeation of water molecules by the material, studies of biodegradation and antimicrobial activity. In this way, the results obtained may contribute to the accreditation of these new materials as promising for use as sustainable packaging.
