Abstract

Heck-Matsuda reactions have been used by chemists over the last 40 years to create new C-C bonds in fine chemicals. Recently, we have been working on the development of the enantioselective version of this reaction with the generation of aryldiazonium salts in situ directly from anilines. The development of the synthetically useful carbonylative version of this reaction to styrenes is one of our objectives with the project. Preliminary results by our research group demonstrated its proof-of-concept, although much experimentation is still needed for its optimization. Herein, we propose a joint project with Professor Matthias Beller, an expert in the carbonylative process, to make it a synthetically useful process. (AU)
