Abstract

During the 13th century, there was a movement by the Castilian Crown to produce works in the vernacular full of guidelines on the experience of Christianity, such as introspection, reflection on life and sins and the means of externalizing repentance, for example. Among these works, Barlaam and Josaphat and Punishments and Documents of King Don Sancho IV stand out, both of a didactic and Christian character. With an emphasis on these documents, the purpose of the internship abroad will be to analyze to what extent the examples contained therein helped to promote spiritual exercises, especially meditation and dialogue.
