Abstract

The structural racism of Brazilian society needs to be questioned, thought about and exhaustively reviewed so that it can unbalance the dynamics of racial power so consolidated by the history of Brazil. In this sense, there is a struggle and search for political rights, but also for the humanization of racialized individuals and mental health care with attention to the processes of psychic suffering. The black body is constituted in a symbolic and imaginary universe impregnated by the identifying aspects of whiteness and with an ego ideal formed by this Eurocentric ideas. The objective of this research is to identify the representations of the body of black women from self-reports available on blogs and to investigate the understanding of the representations of racism in this same population. The relevance of this study is the need to discuss the impact of racism on the processes of subjectivation, mental health and body self-image in black women.
