Abstract

The objective of the study will be to verify the effect of the parents' self-assessment in the interaction with their child with hearing impairment. This is a prospective study with data collection using a Likert scale instrument. Participants in this study will be parents or guardians of 10 children with sensorineural hearing loss, who attend or have attended an auditory rehabilitation program, in which there is emphasis on the development of auditory function and oral communication. Two films of the dyad's communicative interaction will be made, which will be analyzed using the Index Scale of Behaviors that Promote Communication, which proposes the observation of 22 behaviors that analyze the interaction regarding the stimulation of hearing and language. The analysis of the footage will take place in two stages. In the first stage, filming will be performed and for scoring, the intervention will be carried out, which will consist of the explanation of each item of the Scale, parents must assign the score after recording examples of the analyzed behavior. In the second stage, the filming will be carried out and the parents will score and record the examples of unexplained behaviors of each item of the Scale. The 22 behaviors must be scored on a Likert scale and classified as "rarely", "occurs" and "often". Filming results will be analyzed quantitatively (descriptive and inferential) pre and post-intervention (explanation of each Scale item) and related to demographic data.
