Abstract

This research is part of a Brazilian master's project entitled "A study on the processes of subjectivation and alliances of LGBTI+ students in Brazilian public universities'', whose objective is to map and analyze subjective processes that build the belonging of LGBTI+ students in Brazilian public universities from the record of their experiences in these spaces, highlighting the importance of the bonds built in this process. In parallel, having Spain as a reference in promoting an education focused on Diversity, developing various projects and actions in defense of the LGBTI+ community, this BEPE project in particular aims to draw comparisons between the Brazilian and Spanish realities through the identification and analysis of the belonging processes of LGBTI+ students at the Autonoma University of Barcelona (UAB). As a procedure, 10 semi-structured interviews will be carried out with LGBTI+ university students in order to investigate their links, support networks and perceptions as a sexual and gender minority at the university. University collectives that actively position themselves in defense of LGBTI+ rights within Spanish universities will also be mapped and how sociability networks are formed in universities and outside them, with participation in Spanish university study groups and attentive eyes at what is being produced academically in Spain. The analysis of the data collected in Spain and the comparison with the Brazilian data will be based on the principles of qualitative research. (AU)
