Patients affected by diabetes may present delay in the process of tissue repair. As a systemic condition, diabetes can inhibit several growth factors, decrease local metabolism, and decrease the reparative response due mainly to collagen synthesis. Many adjuvant therapies have been studied to stimulate the repair process in diabetes. Among the new treatments, Low-Level Laser has stood out due to its modulating effects of wound repair by stimulating cell proliferation and angiogenesis. The objective is to radiographically verify the primary outcome of alveolar bone repair, pain levels, edema, and postoperative oral opening after red laser photodynamic therapy (660nm) or infrared laser photo biomodulation (808 nm) in diabetic individuals. Forty diabetic non-insulin dependent patients in need of bilateral exodontia and with glycemia and glycated hemoglobin with maximum values of 110-150mg/dl of blood and up to 7.5%HBa1C, respectively, will be selected. These patients will be allocated into 3 groups, depending on the protocol to be received - aPDT, aPDT+PBM, or Sham (simulation of the application of laser irradiation). It will be evaluated: as a primary outcome of bone repair by digital radiographic images that will be compared through free software, as secondary outcome of mucosal repair by a scale of digital images, pain levels through a visual analog scale, edema by linear measurements and mouth opening through measurements that will be provided with a digital caliper
