Abstract Among the component factors of exposome, solar radiation and pollution can be emphasized as the main causes of skin photoaging, due to the formation of reactive oxygen species. In order to make the photoaging process less harmful and slow it down, it is necessary to make regular use of multifunctional sunscreens, which in addition to protecting the skin can also help in reversing the damage caused by the exposome. In this sense, the use of Tara's extract (Caesalpinia spinosa fruit extract) and red seaweed (Kappaphycus alvarezii extract) in photoprotective formulations can contribute to expanding the benefits of the photoprotective formulations, due to their high concentration of polysaccharides, which favors the formation of a protective skin film. In addition, the jaboticaba extract (Plinia cauliflora extract) has antioxidant properties that can protect the skin from oxidative stress and the damage caused by high exposure of UV radiation. Furthermore, the association of these natural extracts can act, in the long-term, for the improvement of the protective effects on the skin. In addition, the extracts can influence the improvement of the sensory and physical-mechanical properties of these formulations. In this context, the present study proposes the evaluation of the rheological behavior, texture profile, sensorial properties and clinical efficacy of photoprotective formulations containing tara, red seaweed and jaboticaba extracts through advanced techniques of biophysics and skin image analysis. | |
