Abstract

This research analyzes TV news programs related to representations of youth and youth visibilities on television news programs on TV Tupi in São Paulo between 1962 and 1974. It is intended, therefore, to undertake a critical analysis of these productions, investigating the representation policies, the regimes of visibility and recognition strategies of young people and youth cultures in the so-called "referential discourses" present in audiovisual narratives. The notions of identity, identification and collective actions will be fundamental for the organization of the empirical material, requiring diverse theoretical and methodological contributions. The research is carried out in a transdisciplinary way, including the fields of history, communication, cultural studies, discourse, and audiovisual theories. It establishes the following analytical categories as central: enunciation, narrative and discourse; criticism, stigmas and youth; audiovisual culture, documentary and news reporting.
