Abstract

Telerehabilitation emerges as an important solution for the treatment of individuals with patellofemoral pain (PFP) nowadays; and provides an effective and feasible strategy when non-supervised interventions are needed. Although the effectiveness of non-supervised interventions has been reported, there is no evidence on the assessment process of people with PFP via telerehabilitation. It remains inconclusive whether on-line assessment of people with PFP is reliable. Thus, the aim of this project is to analyze the degree of reproducibility and reliability between supervised face-to-face assessment process and non-supervised on-line assessment process in people with PFP. It will be necessary 52 people with PFP who will indicate on Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) the worst pain level on the last month and will answer the Anterior Knee Pain Scale -AKPS, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire - short form - IPAQ, the Fear Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire - FABQ, the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia - Tampa, the Pain Catastrophizing Scale - PCS, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale - HADS,the SF-36 Health Survey Questionnaire - SF-36 and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index - PSQI. It will be done two assessment process (supervised face-to-face and non-supervised on-line). The order of the assessments will be randomly defined and the assessments will be performed 7 days apart. Intraclass Correlation Coefficient - two-way mixed effects (ICC3,1) will be used to analyze the degree of reproducibility between the assessment process. Standard Error measurement (SEM) analysis and Bland-Altman graphical analysis will be used to analyze the agreement between the assessments process. The significance level adopted will be 95%.
