Abstract

In this work we intend to study the interaction of the laccase enzyme in Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of dimyristoylphosphatidic acid/graphene oxide. The lipid will be spread at the air-water interface and the enzyme, as well as graphene oxide dispersions, will be inserted into the supporting aqueous subphase of the lipid monolayer. The adsorption of the enzyme to the monolayer will be studied by tensiometry (surface-area pressure isotherms, stability of previously compressed monolayers, hysteresis tests), surface-area potential isotherms, rheological measurements (oscillating barriers and interfacial shear), vibrational spectroscopy and microscopy at the Brewster angle. The mixed monolayer will be transferred to solid supports by LB methodology, and the enzymatic activity of laccase will be evaluated against phenolic compounds.
