Abstract

The objective of this research starts from the hypothesis raised in the preliminary results of the Gender STI, co-financed by FAPESP and the EU, which guide the construction of a model for the analysis of the international interaction between two types of players in the STI ecosystem, essential to innovation diplomacy: academia and industry. Therefore, the aim is to explore the interaction between the private sector and academia and its impact on the gender distribution in scientific careers, from the perspective of the field of international relations. The hypothesis is therefore that, in addition to cultural and social issues linked to stereotypes, the number of women in the teaching career is influenced by the differences in wages between men and women in the labor market in different fields of education. activity. For this, it was decided that it would be necessary in this research to make a comparison between the women of the University of São Paulo (USP) and Sorbonne University; and better understand the relationship between these realities and the situation of women in the private sector in Brazil and France. After all, this research is directly linked to the Gender STI project, which itself is linked to the European Union. At the same time, the comparison would contribute to the internationalization of the analyzes proposed here, which will be important if we consider that this research falls within the field of knowledge of international relations.
