Abstract

The teaching professional development involves the construction of different knowledge focused on the dimensions of the specific knowledge of the area and the pedagogical and technological knowledge. Faced with the current scenario of basic education and considering the new legal guidelines which strongly incorporate the use of technologies, this proposal aims to work on two complementary axes. In a broader scenario, it is proposed to investigate the articulation between training curricula and professional practices, in order to understand how the use of educational technologies in initial teacher training has taken place and its relationship with the development of digital skills, entering into a second level, more specific, which aims at the development and investigation of proposals for the training of chemistry teachers with a focus on the STEAM perspective (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths). Through documental analysis of training curricula and instruments for accessing the level of digital competences, the aim is to characterize the different training courses in the European context with a particular focus on the context of Portugal and the digital training of teachers. This analysis seeks to bring out relevant aspects that help the development of training actions, which will be implemented in training courses, aiming to investigate the development of professional knowledge in actions proposed in initial training. From the perspective of Pedagogical Content Knowledge and using the Multistrategic Didactic Units as a data access tool, the data corpus will be analyzed by Content Analysis, thus aiming to understand the development of professional knowledge and digital integration in the developed proposals.
