Abstract

In the Computed Tomography exam, the HU values and scanning time to obtain each contrast phase depend directly on the administration rate. The use of a contrast power injector standardizes the iodinated contrast injection rate and reduces the technician's exposure to radiation. However, contrast power injector is still not used in the Brazilian veterinary routine, leading to less accuracy and a dependence on manual injection. Thereby, analyzing possible relationships between the liver and kidneys in terms of attenuation and Hounsfield Units and analyzing the organs behavior in each contrast phase with manual administration may contribute to future research and enlightenment in the area.
