Abstract

In Brazil, 35 women were physically or verbally assaulted per minute in 2022. The search to understand, address, and prevent this reality is urgent. The present study consists of an integrative literature review, following the PRISMA guidelines, on the anima and animus archetypes of C.G. Jung's complex psychology and their contemporary interactions influenced by the zeitgeist in gender expressions. The purpose is to analyze how these archetypes are defined and utilized in articles from the last ten years, with a focus on the archetypal representations in contemporary experiences of gender identity. The aim is to contribute to the development of more inclusive and sensitive approaches to its diversities, and also to the discourse surrounding gender-based violence.
