Abstract Covid-19 is a disease that initially manifests as an acute respiratory syndrome, but can evolve and present systemic dissemination. Its etiological agent is the SARS-COV-2 virus, registered in the city of Wuhan, China, in December 2019 before being spread worldwide and reaching pandemic proportions in March 2020. After contact with the virus and the development of the disease, The unfolding of the Post-Covid Syndrome is very common: persistent after-effects after the infection, which may be consequences of changes in various systems, including the immune system, mainly caused by the exacerbated inflammatory response. The objective of this work is to evaluate whether the immunological alterations caused by the Post-Covid Syndrome can cause autoimmune phenomena. The evaluation will be carried out through the research of autoantibodies rheumatoid factor, antinuclear antibody (ANA), Anti-DNA and Anti-cardiolipin through the ELISA method, the VDRL exam and CRP dosage will also be carried out. The results will be compared to individuals in the control group, who never tested positive for the disease, patients with long-term Covid will be divided into three groups according to the severity of the condition (mild, severe and moderate), with a total of 112 individuals between the 4 groups, from Hospital Municipal Guilherme Álvaro and Santa Casa de Santos, located in the city of Santos-SP. | |
