Abstract

This project aims to investigate the disputes and reactions to pluralism and gender diversity within the legislative branch of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo. The main focus of the proposal is the survey and analysis of bills at the state level that oppose the advancement of gender and sexuality policies, with legislative proposals presented between the years 2019 and 2022. The research will be carried out through three fronts: (1) survey and selection of anti-gender bills in progress or already approved at ALESP, between 2019 and 2022, period of the mandate of state deputies elected in the 2018 elections (2) mapping the political trajectories of parliamentarians who proposed selected anti-gender projects with a focus on identifying propositions and discourses against sexual and reproductive rights (3) analysis of selected bills and mapping of the grammars of law mobilized in these projects.
