Abstract

Precision Medicine is an innovative clinical approach that seeks a comprehensive assessment of an individual's health by integrating a patient's clinical data with genetic, molecular, physiological, and environmental information to provide personalized treatment. Cardiology, among other fields, has benefited from advances in precision medicine, including large-scale genetic sequencing and omics studies. Genetic tests are becoming more accessible for evaluating patients with cardiovascular diseases, especially with the use of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), a technique that has revolutionized medical genetics, allowing for the identification of new genes associated with diseases and correlations between genotype and phenotype. Therefore, the implementation of a precision medicine service focused on identifying genetic variants associated with cardiovascular diseases is the initial step towards individualized treatments and potential therapeutic targets.
